The majority of people have not cultivated the political ability to criticize their own side. They are either down with everything their preferred political side does or if they do have some issues from time to time they simply keep quiet about it and look the other way I'm guessing for what they see as the greater political good after all the other side is worse. A very binary view of things. BOTH sides do this btw it's not just a MAGA thing although it may be particularly politically pronounced there. Basically it's why we never have any real political progress in this country. So how's your bunker doing today?
Not sure when the bipolarity of the electorate began - maybe Nixon, Obama, Bush !!. Now we have our own networks to feed our noggins, ya know?
ReplyDeleteHuffPost and OAN are worlds apart. You can visit both and come away disgruntled.
ReplyDeleteI guess bipolarity is more exciting than conciliation and the search for common ground. Rush Limbaugh used to disparagingly say middle-of-the-roaders get run over.
ReplyDeleteForget about ol Rush. I was driving solo across the Great Plains- Montana and he was the only thing on the radio. Pissed me off and mile after mile I searched for something else. Finally found a station
ReplyDeletenear the Dakota border. CW music, but they said stay tuned for the hospital report. Beat the heck out of Limbaugh, so I listened through
several "I left my shoes in Cheyenne and my heart in Larado" songs until. "Now here is the hospital report! There were no admissions and no releases" and "Stay tuned for the Hospital report wrap up" That night I stayed in a little town east of Bismark in a big wooden motel and listed to the weather reports of tornados all around. Now old guys stay home mostly.
I listened to Rush quite a bit back in the day. Another thing he said was that feminism was created so that unattractive women could have access to the mainstream. So that's it. Nothing to do with equal pay for equal work etc. Then I thought even if what he said was true what's wrong with unattractive women having access to the mainstream? The wisdom according to Rush.
ReplyDeleteHannity once said there's absolutely no reason why anyone should be homeless. Bank takes your home. Nada according to Hannity.
ReplyDeleteMy guess it all started back in the 1930s with Father Coughlin; radio show. Sort of a pro Hitler US priest with a lot of followers. You can look him up if you like.
ReplyDeleteNot too familiar with him but I heard of him. Yeah like don't have impure thoughts but you can be a pro-Hitler US priest.
DeleteMy sister big on expiration dates. She's like a deli manager. Gave her some medicated eye drops some time ago when she had a problem. Asked if she still has the bottle as my Systane isn't completely taking care of a current problem. Maybe it's the air quality up here. Wildfires always in the news. Anyway she threw the bottle out too old she said that was some time ago. So strict with the dates. It's like yeah that bottle of pills I had in my medicine chest that cures cancer? Yeah threw them out expired. Try CVS or Walgreen's.
ReplyDeleteI'm stranded I tell you!
Chattered with the neighbor guy yesterday. He's got was nests under his roof eves. Two years ago when he sprayed them, they attacked and stung him 8 times. He said they hurt bad and he started to get light headed. He was about to call 911, but saw a bottle of benadryl pills. Red ones. Downed 4-5. Started feeling weird. Checked the bottle and saw that it was
Deletedog de-wormer pills. He and his bites were on the pot for days.
I read everything. Even get the magnifying class out. Issue for me arises when you plan on an evening with CB later. Do some quick calcs in my head.
DeleteIt's hard dealing with the neurotic types. When I worked in the supermarket a guy would come in, a regular and he'd use his big old magnifying glass to check the expiration dates on the big jugs of Poland Spring. I thought water was eternal but I guess technically that too has an expiration date. Who does this?
ReplyDeleteLost in civilization:)
Business Channel reports Tesla sales in Europe down 30-70% depending on the country. They suspect Musk is connected to the tariffs. He may have to add a D to DOGE and sell the as DODGE. A few days back, one accelerated into a bunch of people. Doggon AI.
ReplyDeleteYet Trump in his "big beautiful bill" wants to deregulate ai. I'd rather not have it at all.
ReplyDeleteThey call it 'asymmetric warfare'. Russia has been sending drones by the hundreds after civilians in Ukraine. Ukraine sent a few dozen over yesterday and destroyed 41 Russian planes on the ground. Is that asymmetric dronefare?
ReplyDeleteAnd all Trump keeps saying to Putin is bad boy I thought you were better than this.
DeletePretty much always in the news. I've seen a dozen GOP congressmen mention "waste, fraud and abuse". Are those catchy words imprinted in their frontal lobes? the Bill would add up to $8 trillion to our debt and it appears the Senate will do more work on it. They are getting a lot of heat from their voters. Idaho had to shut down the White Cloud Wilderness losing thousands of tourists, putting the related businesses out of work. On the other hand the wild life won't complain.
ReplyDeleteThe question remains would our lives have been worse under Kamala?
ReplyDeleteI doubt it, but who knows?
DeleteDemocrats don't brag - it is childish. But - The Biden-Harris administration delivered monumental achievements that are life-changing for millions of Americans. The President and Vice President were focused on investing in economic opportunity resulting in a record 21 million new small business applications, created a record 16 million jobs, lowered the unemployment rate to the lowest average in 50 years, capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month for seniors, cut prescription drug prices, and improved maternal health by expanding postpartum care through Medicaid. They passed the largest investment in a generation to upgrade the nation’s water, transportation, and internet infrastructure and the Vice President cast the tie-breaking vote on the largest investment ever to tackle the climate crisis." Many us us don't believe there is a climate crisis. So the expected 12-13 major hurricanes hit shortly, FEMA is a skeleton that Trump wants ot eliminate all together. If Yonkers gets swamped, you're on your own

All hail your partisanship! Where'd you get that New Republic? He also took protections away from the gray wolf. Told social media platforms what they can and cannot say. Groceries were too high. Still are. Just sayin.' Hiatt formerly sapient has it right. Politics isn't the fix.
DeleteMeant to say soapie google typed in sapient. Google has messed up my texts on more than one occasion.
DeleteThen there is the little matter of the genocide in Gaza. Biden kept the money flowing. Does this make him complicit? Libs protested.
DeleteSelective memory.
Sapient means wise. He was a bit coin aficionado - which still makes no sense to me. As for partisanship, when my middle girl spoke as valedictorian in her HS graduation, she picked 'kindness' as the most important asset for a person. So regarding Trumpville, I despise mean and vengeful, with of course the spirituality of a cod fish. For example, Biden's infrastructure bill brought $$ millions to S idaho with a large microchip plant for Micron. 40,000 construction jobs and 15,000 permanent for the industry and its support. (Kind) At the opening of the project, all the Idaho congressmen and senators came an took credit even though they had ALL voted against it (Mean) and finally when one is as old as dirt ya got nutthin but time to ponder stuff.
ReplyDeleteTrump Administration is dismal don't get me wrong but I think where you fail is you think your side's great. The old political paradigm never changes..
ReplyDeleteDifferent sides of fascism. There was Joe's attempted covid vax mandate requiring businesses with over 100 employees to make sure their workers get the rushed vaccine. Luckily struck down by the SCOTUS. There was his preemptive pardon of "Gain of Function " Fauci....
ReplyDeleteBoise woman turns down Trump Jan 6 pardon -
ReplyDeletehttps://www.idahostatesman.com/news/local/crime/article298937855.html Old lady part of Amon Bundy group. Joined the rioters, doing a lot of video taping. Did a couple months in jail, pondered and figured she had been part of a cult. Meanwhile Noemi's Homeland Security has taken over at FEMA. Her appointed new head held a meeting and asked "Is there really a hurricane season? I'm thinking of the hundreds of thousand employees that got DOGEd. Where will they find jobs? Will the abundance of them entering the private sector, maybe wages will go down? Unemployment go up?
Private sector is impossible - my gas card cracked in half. Spent a day on the computer and a day on the phone trying to get it replaced. The lady in Singapore said they would. Maybe. The Conoco company provides the gas, but all their customer service is by some AI bank and should be termed 'disservice".
ReplyDeleteChef at work has a saying. It's over move on.
ReplyDeleteJ6.
good point, past is over, in history books. Still some just can't forget =
ReplyDeletehttps://wyofile.com/bouchard-calls-for-fauci-to-be-tried-then-executed/
He's your guy. Can you explain to me the benefits of gain-of-function research?Fauci once even issued a paper saying such research was important enough to even risk a pandemic over. You take a relatively harmless to humans bat coronavirus and make it more deadly. You're the scientist. Cast light into our ignorant noggins.
ReplyDeleteNot familiar with "gain of function" no comment.
Deletevaccines convince your body to produce antigens to fight a specific viral attack. Or, you can avoid breathing in. I see RKJr
Deleteis reserving the new Covid vaccine for we elderly. Always worked for me, and shall take atvantage
We're still doing the shots? Never stopped transmission. Never stopped you from catching covid. Not sure what it does exactly but hey.
DeleteLab leak theory. Gain-of-function. No comprende?
DeleteHad all the shots. Never had covid. No problem.
DeleteJ6 - I'm more interested in what Trump is doing in the here and now much of which I disagree with. You're more nostalgic for the past.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he is looking out for you personally. Welcome to Gulf of Z-Man and its kayaks.
ReplyDeleteThank God they got rid of the gay Navy ship ya know?
