Ever wonder why Trump is campaigning as such a right-wing hardass? Many people are making the mistake that he's an aspiring dictator or fascist. However there were no mass deportations of illegals in his first term and there won't be any in a Trump second term. Play your base like a fiddle then when in office govern more pragmatically. In a second term he can do what he wants but doesn't have to answer to his base anymore since there's no third term for presidents. Least that's the way I see it.
Hadn't thought of that. I suspect it depends on who he picks for his advisors, not that he ever listens to them. I guess there is an outside chance, he could have enough help from senate, congress and SCOTUS to change the 3rd term thing, but he would be more ancient then.

ReplyDeleteI think JD tipped us off in the VP debate. When asked if Trump would separate parents from their children Vance danced a good jig but said they'd start with deporting the criminal element which really nobody could disagree with. Reasonable but for now it's Hulk Hogan and scumbags.
