The algae is growing. Maybe someday they'll allow bass fishing. Trump is charging vandalism. Arrests have been made. Dunno. Has the Lincoln Memorial ever had graffiti on it? Kind of thin imo. So this is what people are talking about which kind of summarizes what the Trump 2nd Term has become. BORING. Nothing of substance. Nothing to get excited about unless you're Lindsey Graham who is creaming in his knickers at the thought of obliterating Iran. WTH happened to this guy?
Woke up with a sense of urgency this morning. Sidewalk grass is getting tall better do some mowing early before the rains come. Trimmed the hedges for good measure. When did the City of Yonkers become so anal about things? I got enough on my plate. The other day I put my garbage out for pickup forgetting it was Juneteenth. Hope I don't get a warning in the mail.
Puffing on my pipe before. Sitting on the front porch thinking is it time to call the gutter cleaning guys and mulling over my slower moving blog. Time for some sort of post I said.

ReplyDeleteThe gutter cleaning. My late Dad was always a big DIYer. Some of his work was good some other work makeshift. He liked to clean the gutters himself and sometimes I'd hold the ladder. Mom asked me to paint the redone porch once. I said look I'll pay a pro. I know my limitations. I know how to install a toilet seat though and change a light bulb.

ReplyDeleteLiving in Yonkers. Don't know if you or BB ever worked under management that worried about mostly stupid and minor stuff. They put everyone under a weird stress. That's the way Yonkers has become. Overtaxed and overregulated as BB once said.

Where else could I see human pretzels twist themselves into knots to somehow hate Obama for sending $1.8 billion to Iran in a cargo jet, yet have no problems with Trump making a deal to get the Mullahs over $400 billion?
Shaw and I talk a fair amount. She doesn't hate a one of that crowd. She's just disillusioned to see and hear fellow Americans act like that. And not have any self awareness.
I mean, that crowd basically called BB a traitor to the US for not agreeing with them 100%. BB?

Retirement - probably noted this before, but planning with a professional is important. After putting 3 kids through college, we had #250K in IRAs. Had a non-profit lady set us up with a program which paid out that amount and more the last few years and is still worth the starting amount,. My other secret was Larry Kudlow, Trump econ advisor. Do the opposite of what he says. Can't go wrong

ReplyDeleteWith the understanding that Trump would probably send you to the most incompatible nation. Would have to be a country with a great health care system. A country never embroiled in war. So with what meager knowledge I have I'd have to research some Scandinavian countries. Not an official position but leaning.
