Hearing different things. Travis Kelce's Mom doesn't like Taylor Swift. They ain't wealthy and had to fly coach. T. Swift thought their dresses looked cheap. Travis himself wanted to get married on a private island but Taylor insisted on MSG. They have a white dog.
It appears ICE has taken up their killing ways again with deadly shootings in Houston and Maine. Must be a prerequisite for the job to like killing folk. What happened to the days when they just quietly deported people? Oh that was Obama.
New pipe smoking method gaining ground among the devotees known as the breath method. Less work I find than the constant drawing. Tobacco stays lit better. You don't have to get the pipe cleaners out that much. Better flavor. Bowl less hot. To each their own.
Left work late afternoon today. Sky a weird color. Thought it was gonna rain. Oh Canada we sing your praises and thank you for the poor air quality. NYS and most of New England under the haze for the next couple of days. Faint campfire smell. Crack out the marshmallows?
On ICE, the two agencies responsible forbade the practice of chasing victims. Trump was furious and countermanded the two agency heads One of which was Homan) As for the pipe smoking method, I've been at at a little short of 70 years + am usually busy doing something other than meditating. Lemme hear how it works - maybe you will meditate yourself and see the rest of us Stranded In Civilization.
ReplyDeleteThe new pipe smoking method. They tend to overcomplicate it in the explaining. After your pipe is well lit instead of drawing or puffing you basically keep the stem closed in your mouth and simply breath through your nose naturally. Some air from your mouth keeps the tobacco lit. Less laborious for me but you can alternate between this and the traditional method
ReplyDeleteS'mores... never one of my favs. I just likes the marshmallow flambe... on a stick!
ReplyDeleteI've never been a smoker, but I've always enjoyed the smell of a good pipe tobacco.
ReplyDeleteWildfire smoke from Canada. A yearly thing now?
ReplyDeletePipe smoking a lot of trial and error. I think I'm the only person in my neighborhood who doesn't smoke pot.
ReplyDeleteLearned fairly early in the pipe puffing arena to give them a rest -
ReplyDelete"The 24-hour rule dictates that you should let a briar pipe rest for 24 hours for every bowl of tobacco smoked. This allows the porous wood to dry out and cool completely, preventing the pipe from accumulating moisture, turning "sour," or suffering permanent wood damage. "
So I have a rack in the bookcase and rotate them up a notch and replaced the smoked pipe at the far end. Meditative pipe smoking-
Do you dream of a hookah and dancing girls. And Dave, what do you think they have been smoking over at the Mothership?
Interesting. You should have a pipe channel on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteKind of leaves us poor folk with only one pipe at a disadvantage.
ReplyDeleteWhen a subject becomes too complicated I give it up which is why I retired from fly-fishing.
Probably just as well - fishing involves thinking like a fish. Poblems like
ReplyDelete'I got an itchy fin" and "That worm wasn't all that great". Better to smoke your solitary pipe and meditate? I usually smoke between 5 and 8 pipes a day depending on if I have to take an 85 year old's afternoon nap.
Well come here to the Empire State. You don't have to smoke a pipe. Plenty of smoke to be had with a hint of evergreen. Canadian mix.
ReplyDeleteWould we qualify as an ICE agent?

In the video I just saw after he shot and killed the man they dragged him from the car and literally handcuffed a dead man on the ground all in front of his young daughter in her pajamas. He wasn't even the target of the ICE officers' warrant. Stuff like this never happened under Obama.
ReplyDeleteWyatt Earp always got his man. ICE often gets the wrong guy.
DeleteGo figure.
Results of that Iranian folly so far -
ReplyDelete"Patriot Interceptors: Over 1,200 missiles were used in the first few months.Tomahawk Cruise Missiles: Over 1,000 were fired, representing about ten times the U.S. military's annual purchase volume.JASSM-ER Missiles: Approximately 1,100 of these stealth cruise missiles were launched.THAAD Interceptors: Over 100 high-end interceptors were launched during initial engagements, using up to 20-50% of the entire global inventory"
That must have cost several billion. How we gonna invade Greenland anyhoo?
Hegseth doesn't want a lot of ammunition lying around. Now Trump is bombing Iranian bridges. Isn't that a war crime? Still a theocracy.
ReplyDeleteGood news for Yonkers!
ReplyDeleteTrump has ordered new tariffs on Canada to stop the wildfires.
+ he is furious with Homan for easing up on the killing of fleeing non targets. What a psychological enigma.
Not the tariff part but doesn't Canada have good land and forest management? This happened a couple years ago and now it's maybe like a yearly thing? When did this happen? I don't recall this in the past large swaths of Canadian smoke spewing down into out Midwest and Northeast. It's a public health concern.
ReplyDeleteBTW how's your testosterone level?
Minus the tariff threat I am suspending judgement on Trump's comments on his social media about the Canadian wildfires. Rare for me. It's an important public health issue. What is being done to ensure this doesn't happen every year? How is their forestry management up there? How did it even start? Over 800 wildfires? I need to know more. Now is frustration. Should pass soon I'm guessing.
