Election Day ruminations. Some folks be in a time warp. I can't remember the last time I saw an actual hippy. Does Jackson Galaxy count? This is gonna come out the wrong way but some older folk can't stop talking about WW2. Not a pacifist but I also think war should not be celebrated. That said Hegseth should have treated the Eisenhower globe with more respect. "We had nice songs back in the day" is another one. The time will come when a future generation won't even know who Lady Gaga was and we"ll be saying the same thing. There's a strong bias towards the past among many folk who don't seem to know what going forward means. BTW if the tie comes off does that mean things are gonna get a little frisky?
Frisky? Not sure that's the term folks are using these days. But your point is well taken. Once the tie comes off, it's on...
ReplyDeleteBTW... tomorrow, if folks even post, it will be interesting around MAGA themed blogs. There will be no self investigation, no self reflection.
It'll all be about how the country has been stolen by the commie/socialist fraudsters, otherwise known as Democrats.
The GOP, after the SCOTUS finished gutting the Voting Rights Act, went across America and redrew districts to eliminate districts that were majority black.
They'll never think about that or blame Trump for any of tonight's defeats. Trump who won in 2024 with his base, young people, Hispanics and yes... even black people. His campaign had built a coalition to win for decades.
And then he threw it away getting too ICEy, driving up costs through tariffs and starting a war with Iran that has sent gas and diesel prices upwards.
All while Iran STILL has their nuclear capabilities that he said were obliterated last year.
His campaign will be studied for years as one of the worst ones in election history.
But again, you'll hear none of that at places like Geeez. But you will hear about fraud and illegal voting. Which no one has ever proved, but has become the central creed of MAGA voters. They just know it. It's political gnosticism requiring special knowledge.
They'll lose, but as always, it will be because of "the other guys", not themselves.
Spot on Dave.
ReplyDeleteHOW old are those people at the Ship? "Leave It To Beaver" and "Father Knows Best" are great as nostalgia shows but I wouldn't want to live there.
