Obama's very liberal 2nd Inaugural Address

The Leftward Tsunami is coming, conservatives better head for the hills.  Obama riding the back of Leviathan, there's a Dali painting in there somewhere and at long last his speech finally dispelled the myth of his centrism.  The NY Times proudly used the term "liberal" on its front page and it's pretty clear he's gonna do what he wants in his second term and why not? the American people gave it to him.  The msm will have his back of course, well maybe not Jake Tapper but he's gone rogue.  Obama has this very annoying but shrewd polemical habit I've noted, if you don't agree with him or otherwise want to work with him you're an extremist, an absolutist, bad for the Republic and in this way he casts himself as the reasoned and civil moderate when in reality what people are really against is his liberalism.  This is defining the terms of the debate from the getgo (what debate?) and in psychological terms is called invalidation ("you're irrational").  There've been a few liberal invalidating comments posted of late on this very blogpage.  For instance if you don't agree with me you're incapable of processing my opinion i.e. reason.  It's clear Obama doesn't want to work with conservatives, he is divisive and polarizing as usual and he'll never change.  The speech covered the usual liberal gamut from gay rights to gun control, immigration reform and entitlements to climate change and it's clear LI Rep. Peter King was starstruck by the Beyonce/Jay-Z couple as he eagerly whipped out his picture phone like any stalkerazzi approaching deadline.  OK OK so perhaps BB and Saty can explain to me AND the Ole Gray Lady why his very well-received second inaugural address wasn't liberal:)

  2. I need to bring this up right now at this moment:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/24/new-mexico-abortion-bill_n_2541894.html

    _____________________
A Republican lawmaker in New Mexico introduced a bill on Wednesday that would legally require victims of rape to carry their pregnancies to term in order to use the fetus as evidence for a sexual assault trial.

House Bill 206, introduced by state Rep. Cathrynn Brown (R), would charge a rape victim who ended her pregnancy with a third-degree felony for "tampering with evidence."

“Tampering with evidence shall include procuring or facilitating an abortion, or compelling or coercing another to obtain an abortion, of a fetus that is the result of criminal sexual penetration or incest with the intent to destroy evidence of the crime," the bill says.

Third-degree felonies in New Mexico carry a sentence of up to three years in prison.
    _____________

Because it just isn't enough that someone should have their life shattered by a brutal, horrific, violent crime of the most intimate nature possible, right?

On the other hand, it's almost refreshing to see that the Right is coming clean about their motivations here. No warm and fuzzy baby pictures, or tugs on heartstrings.

No, it's about preserving the evidence.

At least they're honest... the motivation here is to force a woman to endure nine months of pregnancy because of "evidence".

    Oh yes.

  3. Ms. Brown has an A rating from the
NRA. She reacted to the justified
national heat by saying that the bill was badly crafted. She is an attorney from Carlsbad.

  4. You know something Saty for someone who accuses other commenters of talking about abortion too much you sure do your share.

  5. Anyway if Obama is a centrist why does he have a left-wing base? IF you're smack dab in the middle objectively speaking why would one base prefer you and not the other base?

  6. Because the Republican party is no longer a party of moderates, but of extremists.

And I felt compelled to talk about that law.

  7. Both sides talk about the issue ALOT but somehow it's wrong when only pro-lifers bring it up (bugs the beejesus out of Patrick M). In the last election here in Westchester Cty. and NYS even Dems running for dogcatcher touted in tv ads "I AM PRO-CHOICE", wasn't any lifer who brought it up. That law you mentioned about "tampering with the evidence", it's like some SNL skit or something out of The Onion. You sure she's not some leftwing plant to make us look bad?

  8. I don't know the exact % but the pro-choicers like to talk about Rape/Incest ALOT even though most abortions take place for other reasons - the emotionalism of liberalism. Um, yeah...some lifers have preferred to take it off the table and give it to them, it's the annoying skip on the record they can do without. I'm not that up to date on stuff happening out in the hinterlands and anyways I thought the Roe decision invalidated all state laws or attempts at state laws. Seems to me everyone's going about this in reverse.

  9. As expected the hateful scumbags, like the author of this blog who HATE Obama ARE the biggest racists in American History. I didn’t watch the Inauguration yesterday, because I slept till 3pm. All the others who are “glad” that they didn’t watch it are, racists and bigots. That’s what people who hate Obama are…racists and bigots. What’s even more disgusting is that YOU have the galls to call yourselves “Patriots” when you are nothing of the sort. What you ACTUALLY are racists! What you ACTUALLY are bigots, What you ACTUALLY are black haters. What you ACTUALLY are hypocrites.

  10. Oh Jezz, Wake me up when the revolution starts!

  11. Look Z-Man old chap, the majority of Americans don’t agree with you. Keep preaching to YOUR choir, keep up the Obama is evil nonsense, and keep deflecting blame from your party’s message, it will only further drive the party to the right, and cause the inevitable future failures of the Republican Party. They blame everyone but themselves. They blame Obama's victory on election fraud. They even blame two hurricanes on Obama winning, but if that’s true then it was an Act of God that re-elected the president in a landslide after you called his re-election as wrongly as any of the other “experts.” It has been proven beyond doubt ANYONE who hates Barack Obama including you is a racist!
    You have zero credibility. Zero.

  12. Question Guy, you sound like one of the fanatical idiot rightwingers who comments here a lot.

Do me a favor. Shut the hell up or make it productive.

And yeah, Z, I really wish that was an onion story, but it wasn't.

  13. Socialism, there is nothing glorious or good about this movement of lowlife scum. To get to the bottom of this and be very honest, it is a movement led by extremely evil and greedy people who wish to exert as much control and corruption as possible upon us, and they rely upon a large number of brain-dead useful idiots who are literally so stupid that they don’t even know that they are being used. They enthusiastically support causes of which they have no clue. Mostly just a bunch of lazy, unwashed losers eagerly following whoever offers them a free ride.

  14. The truth is that a VAST MAJORITY of the American population do NOT support the protests, and certainly not the criminal activity and unhygienic filth that they practice. To call them lazy would be an insult to lazy people. They refuse any job offered to them, including some that pay well. They do not wish to work. They wish for big, bloated oversized central government to take care of them. Thanks to the organizers of this nasty un-American movement, the level of violence and the threat to mainstream working America is increasing. These organizers leading the #occupy movement are the unions, especially the SEIU, and public sector union members who feel they should be allowed to offer their mediocre and substandard services for an exorbitantly high wage, and to have extremely nice benefits at YOUR taxpayer expense. The #occupy movement is further supported by our current White House and house minority speaker Nancy Pelosi, and other ethically-challenged criminal democrats. Many other evil people have jumped on the bandwagon. The American NAZI party, David Duke of KKK fame, the Code Pink America-haters who loathe our troops, the Hezbollah terrorist organization, the communist and socialist parties of America, Nation of Islam and many others. The movement is now officially full of hatred of Catholics, Jews, Blacks, and Homosexuals

  15. Ah, such writing, reminds me of Shakespeare...

'a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.'

  16. Question Man: "Look Z-Man old chap the majority of Americans don't agree with you."

I was explaining this to my friend in the car who spent a good deal of time criticizing Obama. It's democracy, there was nothing untoward. A majority of Americans reelected Obama, their reasoning however is over my head.

"They even blame two hurricanes on Obama winning."

There is no doubt in my mind that Superstorm Sandy sealed the deal for Obama. It would have been nice if the media kept covering the campaign but it's like we never had a storm before. Technical point - Tropical Storm Sandy.

  17. All Chris Christie's fault.

  18. Well he kinda developed a guy crush on Obama at the time. Maybe they can visit each other's man cave.

  19. I caught a Letterman clip this morning. Letterman asks if Cristie
has an eating problem: he says no,
reaches under the desk and hauls out a Burger King Whopper and starts munching away. If ya can't laugh at yourself, you can ya laugh at?

  20. Billy Joel once told Katie Couric "I'm not an alcoholic, I'm an alcohol abuser." Maybe Christie just likes to abuse food.

  21. Wonder if Christie's uber fondness for Double Whopper & Biggie Fries is all in his head ?

  22. He sure got pissed off at that former White House doctor woman who warned him he needs to lose weight. Now most of us get a paunch later on in life and normally I'd feel the same way have the good doc mind her own f'n business but when you're getting bigger literally every single day your case weakens.
