The great MAGA betrayal

So about Trump's cabinet picks I'm hearing this and I'm hearing that.  Bunch of rabid war hawks being nominated going against all the MAGA principles.  Others not happy about Marco Rubio being tapped as Secretary of State.  I'm hearing that Matt Gaetz is the least likely to get confirmed and it has nothing to do with the edge of seventeen sex allegations.  Everyone on board 110% pro-Israel of course.  Huck even opposes a Palestinian state.  Gabbard is in there.  RFK Jr. ready to run wild.  A FOX News host running Defense?

We have aways to go before the Inauguration.   Normally this is boring and dry stuff for me.  I'm not a political junkie but Trump's cabinet picks are generating quite a bit of discussion.  There is even some talk of MAGA protesting Trump.  Me?  I just live my life and feed the cats.

  1. I'm a bit of a political junkie, but it seems that politics is junk anymore. 'Shake up and reform the government' is the stated goal. Meanwhile the thought of RFK at HHS has me pondering - "Most of you scientists have left or been fired. You will be required to test any and all vaccines for 150 years before release...and you will fast track
my secret replacement, tasty pills made from road kill extract". As for feeding the cat - he has thrown up every morning since returning from the vet. I suspect he may be nibbling Poinsettia leaves from the flower pots on the floor. Mrs. disagrees. Another week, maybe she will?

  2. The way I heard it explained on Jimmy Dore the real reason Gaetz is being opposed is he's against the War Machine.

  3. The covid vaccines were still under clinical trial and still being tested when they were fast-tracked on the mass public. In a way we were part of the trials in real-time.

  4. From an obscure blogger in the upper midwest - "A man who does not want advice and does not see that he needs any is not looking for advisors. This man, as we have seen before, wants flunkies. Toadies. Yes-men and -women. Anyone not ready to nod like a bobblehead wouldn't last a week in his Cabinet, and anyone seriously qualified is, ipso facto, disqualified from the get-go."
I'll go see what GeeeZ and Co think.

  5. Doesn't that describe most workplaces though? In all the jobs I ever had in my life I generally did what the boss told me to do. Bosses don't ask your opinion or if you agree with the assignment. So yeah the WH is a little different as Trump has advisors. How do you know he doesn't listen to them or consider what they're saying? You painted a caricature from hearsay.

    1. That quote was not mine. I don't have to paint a caricature - it is plainly reality. i worked for geniuses and idiots, was never fired nor unemployed. I could put up with go*dam Bu&hit for years, but I knew when to start looking. You might like working for Gaetz, but I'd be looking for sanity. Why do you think awful bosses are even there? Because their boss is an idiot. Management 101. Kinda grumpy today, apolgies.

    2. Following orders doesn't automatically make you a toadie or yes-man. Gotta pay the bills. Don't like the orders don't take the job.

  6. I'm thinking though if you're the President wouldn't you want people in your Cabinet who are more in line with your vision? Would seem obvious or am I toadying?

    1. I figure I'd pick people who are smarter than me for those areas
(quite a few) that I'm dumb at. Would you pick Jackson Gallop
      to herd cats?

    2. Well RFK Jr. might be controversial but he's not dumb.

  7. Mikey threw up twice today. Wife found Pointesttia leaves in the barf.
They have been moved to a high remote place. Took four days to convince her *sigh*. Being single must simplify things?

  8. I have family members who never think they're wrong. After awhile you don't discuss things with them.

    1. You got nieces and nephews, a brother and 2 sisters and maybe a cousin in Buffalo? I had an aunt and uncle that ran a little resort in N Wisconsin - cabins and boats. The uncle had a side job with the state resource place - he went around the county to do an annual Loon count (and I'm talking birds here) Another aunt and uncle had to kids but a rather dangerous spoiled poodle. Had a grandma that ran a puppy mill. along with running trap lines and trying to domesticate local foxes.
Families have their favorites and deny knowing others.

  10. Not estranged from them by any stretch just that with practically any subject under the sun they're always right. The subject could be cat litter whatever. Now I'm just polite.

  11. More cat health problems. After last week's visit he stared vomiting all over the house every day and clearly not feeling well. i suspect he is reacting to the distemper and other shot he got. Today he seems to be coming out of it. One thing about cats - they are one tough creature, the 9 Lives thing rings true. (I know for sure he hasn't eaten any of the e. coli carrots from all the grocery stores out here.)

  12. What's up with all the E. Coli cases out there?

  13. Some big California place. Baby carrots in cellophane bags, all sorts of brand names. Odd thing about e. coli - most of the types are harmless or beneficial and always exist in the human gut and are often used in microbiology for recombinant DNA work and teaching. Of the dozens of sub-species and strains, only 3 or 4 cause illness. It is astounding that they all thrive in fecal matter. Icky-poo.
