Well I'll say something here. Now I've been involved in these pro-life/pro-choice debates off and on for several years now and what stands out to me at least is that no matter how you slice it the majority of pro-choicers come across as pro-abortion. Indeed Mayor Bloomberg doesn't just come across as pro-abortion, he IS pro-abortion. The other thing is I'm not saying you can't be pro-choice, if that's your politics I can't force your mind to think otherwise and yet you cannot inspire people or to put it in other terms pro-choice ultimately fails at the inspiration because at its heart is a destructive act. Civil rights, the right to vote, health care, all these are positives and so inspire but a negative cannot inspire even if you think there's nothing that can be done about it. So yeah you can be pro-choice but ultimately it's about something ugly.
Actually, the problem is that the pro-aborts do not see it as a negative at all, they think it is some routine procedure, like getting a wart removed. Abortion scheduled for 10:00 so they have time to do lunch and get a manicure that afternoon. Sickening!
Oh I can't wait. I read the article twice and it doesn't say whether he used his actual ex-girlfriend's name on the billboard. My take which didn't take too much time to come to is this: it's covered under free speech but he shouldn't have done it. I think the word harassment is vastly overused these days but it's a really good situation to discuss. Thanx Beth.

ReplyDeleteHonestly I think Mayor Bloomberg is so pro-abortion he'd do the procedure himself if he had to ("oh give me the g-d forceps!!!").
ReplyDeleteYou must discuss this story!

If you decide to discuss, wait until next Tuesday when I get back from vacation!
ReplyDeleteI'm on vacation myself this week.
