I don't give a rat's ass

About Taylor Swift or Cracker BarrelOpen mic time.  Why does Trump want to go to war against Venezuela?

  1. Open mike? Back in military, I went with a Boy Scout troop winter camping in the Wasatch Range. I about froze to death in my tent, but the boys had a walkie-talkie in each tent and spent most of the night in a loud broadcast farting contest. No Eagle Scouts there. Then, the guy that hosted the Howdy Doody show still had the mike on afterwards and pronounced 'that should hold the little bastards' - which was hard on ratings. Given current politics, I have to judge the
Taylor and Travis engagement as tame and mundane.

  2. Don't know why people worship the super rich. They can't afford the rent but live vicarious lives through them. Yes tame, mundane...and irrelevant.

  3. Another school shooting - the 3 R's - require, rifle, reload. May they rot forever in Hell. Who would shoot praying kids?

  4. I had to get up to speed on this. Doing yardwork most of the day. A possible transsexual angle to this. How many school shootings do we average per year now?

  5. Sorry. I'm not up on the Vogue/Vanity Fair thing.

  6. Ultra-Orthodox Israelis being drafted by Bibi. They were exempt from military service for decades. Which of Bibi's wars are they supposed to fight in? Bibi off the rails. Bibi and Trump - nutbags.

  7. When Bibi finishes Gaza, he has his eyes on Yonkers?

  8. Remember Carter? Begen, Sadat, Camp David. How quaint.

It's a cooler summer over here BB. What's going on?

  9. Turtleneck weather. People walking around in long sleeves and jackets in late August! Neighbor got a pool. Not an in-ground one just a circular one for the yard to cool off in. Hasn't used it once. What happened to the global warming?

  10. Melania is an alien immigrant. How come Human doesn't send her to El Salvador or Uganda?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I didn't know you could send aliens to countries they never came from. What's a Latino going to do in Uganda? Probably never heard of Idi Amin. How is this legal?

  12. Maybe Megyn Kelly can explain it all. She's on this Trump magic carpet ride. Take over D.C. good in her eyes.

  13. Virologists working on mRNA have been defunded, setting vaccine research back into the 1940s. All the funding has been concentrated on the widespread brain worm and the benefits of roadkill. Onward and Upward. Meanwhile MAGA Trey Gowdy suggested something be done about guns and schools. He has been labled as 'not conservative' any more. As near as I can tell, school shootings must be a conservative good?

    2. Your last sentence was deliberately hyperbolic. Re guns conservatives focus more on mental health and not gun laws.

      Delete
    3. Whatever they focus on, it doesn't work. Background checks get in the way of business you know.

      Delete
    4. But you have to get a background check to get a gun. Common knowledge.

    5. Re other gun control measures I'm not against many of them but there's one salient point. Criminals don't obey laws that's why they're known as criminals. So maybe they can't get a firearm at Dick's no biggie.

    6. School shooter had no criminal record. Apparently his mother is in hiding. Who would want to shoot little kids, huh?

      Delete
    7. The first would-be Trump assassin had no criminal record either as I recall. The school shooter did leave some kind of social media trail since taken down. Hated religion, hated Trump, leftist kind of politics except for his love of guns of course.

    8. Interesting, like Da Vinci, he used a coded alphabet - cyrillic letters. I toyed with Runic for awhile, passed notes around the workplace with buddies who knew the code. Doubt he was very leftist as he hated minorities, blacks and jews. Just crazy.

    9. Very much into trans issues. Rather you like the Jen Psaki version let's ignore his ideology and focus on the guns. Scrap the manifesto and his social media trail. Just guns guns and guns. Hated God, religion, Jesus Christ. Hated Trump. Other than that you're right just bonkers. Just decided the wake up one morning and do something.

    11. Probably. I guess I should not have retired so long back. On he other hand, I don't do Facebook, Twitter, X, Podcasts or things that need a password. Other than model trains, my hobby is watching Big Pharma commercials. Mr. Boring.

  14. You're like the complaint department. So yesterday on the fire lines of WA state's largest forest fire, ICE agents showed up, took the team off the front lined them up and arrested 2 and warned the rest ot the smokies not to take videos. The festering mNRA thing turns out to also affect the latest cancer research (the whole concept of viral penetration of human cell surface relating to cancer spread at the biochemical phase). Can I get my tax money back?

    1. You're not exactly Mr. Optimism yourself.

What was wrong with the old vax tech? Put us in good stead down through the ages. Surely you must admit it helped eradicate polio and smallpox. Also with the older tech no embalmers were finding those strange white fibrous clots in some of the corpses of the covid-vaccinated. mRNA vaccines may also interfere with tumor suppressor genes. You can't hurry love and you can't hurry vaccines. Doesn't turn out good.

    2. ICE should be shut down. Homan should go home. Haven't seen any raids around Yonkers yet.

  15. And they continue to lower the legal age to get a gun. The vast majority of shooters are white males with a strong conservative ethic aiming for minorities and liberals. No one makes any mention of that though.

  16. Also trans shooters now. This latest one and one a couple years back. Not exactly a pattern but hardly right-wing.

  17. Yesterday Trump ended secret service protection for Kamala Harris, just as she starts a book tour. Today he loosened gun laws.

  18. Z-Man, you're full of it - mNRA, that is. Consider -
"Contrary to the notion that mRNA is a threat, in “the absence of mRNA, life as we know it would not exist,” said Penny Riggs, an associate professor of functional genomics at Texas A&M University.
“mRNA molecules are critical for the function of processes in all the cells of our bodies,” Riggs said in an email. “Their presence in the cytoplasm allows proteins to be created. They are also part of a finely-tuned system to regulate how much protein is made and when/how long it’s made.”
While the mRNA used in COVID-19 vaccine is created in labs, Riggs said there is also no basis for the suggestion that such mRNA is a threat. She noted that using mRNA allows for faster production of vaccines and that the mRNA is quickly destroyed by the cells after providing the instructions.
“I see this as a precision upgrade to vaccine technology,” Riggs said.
We senior citizens have signed up for it, but will it be available? You a big RFK Jr. fan?

    ReplyDelete
  19. As is well known by now the spike protein from the vax doesn't stay in the deltoid muscle but goes everywhere. Could even pass the blood/brain barrier but having said that seen in the best light it doesn't do much. Doesn't stop transmission or you getting it so an underwhelming product. I'd think you seniors would want something better on the market or are our standards so low now? You a big fan of getting rushed vaccines on the market without long-term safety data to back them up?

    1. "The myocarditis thing?
"It is very rare for the COVID-19 vaccine to cause myocarditis. Only 2 out of every 100,000 people who get the vaccine get myocarditis." WebMD goes on to list dozens of other things from bacteria to autoimmune that are more major causes of that condition. Now, if you prefer not to get the vaccine, that's fine. But you don't seem to want me to get it and I don't get that.

    2. Interesting take.

What I find particularly morally horrible is when hospitals take patients off of transplant lists in effect killing them because they won't take an experimental vaccine. Also hospital policies that require visitors to be fully vaccinated whatever the heck that means. Part One of the Hippocratic Oath says do no harm. If you want to get boosted every 3 months fine buy it's my personal choice not to participate in and enable such a system.

      Delete
    3. Also based on your myocarditis figures it's still unethical to mandate it in any way. Amounts to a deadly lottery in my view.

      Delete
    4. Does RFKJr. know about the Hippocratic Oath? Oh yeah, right-
he knows nothing about medicine. Who would make HIM head of HHS?

    5. No yeah I agree. I thought Trump was gonna make him Sec'y of Agriculture or something. Wouldn't of been my choice.

  20. As a nurse vaccines are a hot button issue for me. The biggest problem is that everyone thinks they're an expert. I'll just say this: if you are privileged enough to get a possible organ donation you will be taking anti rejection meds for the rest of your life. I worked with a girl who drank herself into liver failure. She had a transplant lined up and she was denied because she would not agree to the lifestyle changes and died at 47 years old. I myself have a fair chance of needing a transplant one day and I assure you I would do whatever they asked of me to get it. For that same reason I am one hundred percent fully vaccinated probably for things you never heard of, like hepatitis A. Vaccines have eradicated diseases. Measles is 97pct preventable with a vaccine. Smallpox. Polio. Hepatitis B. Malaria. I have seen people die of covid and every one was unvaccinated. My previous boss had covid 3x because she refused to be vaccinated and ended up with serious cardiac issues. Dont want it? Refused it. But when you're deathly ill and its too late, nobody can help you. And in terms of potential complications a 2 in 100000 is pretty minimal. Aspirin has a bigger side effect profile. The rest is MAGA propaganda.

    1. Thus spake a nurse of long experience. I have to rely on several
books in my library and a daughter who teaches immunology, virology and microbiology. These tend to back Saty.

    2. This clearly has triggered you. You've been posting all day. Let the record show however that medical experts who were critical of the covid vaccines early were heavily censored and suppressed. Some even had licenses and privileges revoked. Thus a highly curated and controlled narrative that persists to this day.

Didn't expect this post to take such a dark tutn.

  21. Don't agree. Doesn't explain the weird things some embalmers are finding in some of the corpses of the covid-vaccinated. White fibrous clots some quite long. Apparently some vascular surgeons as well have pulled them out of the living. I doubt MAGA is well-versed in this. I am aware of what they tell potential transplant patients but the covid vaccines hardly rise to that special status of needing to be required aa they were still supposed to be under clinical trials for at least 2-3 more years when they were foisted on the general public. Nuremberg violation imo. Cognitive dissonance. Don't leave your critical thinking skills behind. Biden's predicted winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated never happened. Always a less than 1% mortality rate throughout the pandemic even before the vax rollout. As an aside I drove a female co-worker to work coughing in my car once. Was out the next two weeks with covid. I never got it. I got 99 problems but myocarditis ain't one. The covid authoritarianism and coercion was during the pandemic now BB is lamenting the pendulum is swinging the other way so hey. Oh but Trump authoritarianism is bad.

  22. Work on the math too. They say 70-80% of people have been covid-vaxxed so then when you crunch those numbers the folks with vax-induced myocarditis become much larger. Basic arithmetic

  23. You sure got a lot of comments. And Cracker Barrel didn't even come up. The Ukrainians are building their own long range missile (company run by a woman) my key board wouldn't work until I warm booted the system and I am at war with a plantar wart with compound W - not to be taken internally. How's things on the Yonkers front?

  24. Nice change of topic. Yesterday was a little withering. Haven't seen Code Enforcement drive by in quite some time. Still careful. Been using my string trimmer a lot. No matter how I wind up the new nylon replacement line it kinks up. Watch 5 different videos and they say do 5 different things. Bought a nice pocket watch from overseas. Black hands against a dark blue background. Can't tell the time though. Maybe I can experiment.

  25. Yes the taking away of Kamala Harris' security detail bothered me but didn't say much about it. My conclusion - Trump shouldn't have the power to do that. There should just be a rule that former Administration officials automatically get Secret Service protection for a specified amount of time. Just spiteful.
