I had wanted things to become less contentious around here but it's inescapable. RFK Jr. being grilled by the Senate. From the clips I watched seemed mainly about covid and the covid vaccines. They really built a religion around these covid vaccines so many people were predicting there would be an orchestrated coordinated attack against RFK Jr. by the elites right about now. In fact there's a leaked memo from Bio about this. The rest of us have moved on however but some people are still taking the shots. I'm not sure when full immunity is supposed to kick in maybe after the 17th booster? I'm thinking there would be at least a public clamoring for a better product on the market by now. This is not about the public health it's about the $$$$$$. I didn't want to go down this road again. Not a fanboy of RFK Jr. but a large swath of the public has lost faith in ThE SciEnCe. You know it's really weird the Left used to criticize Big Pharma. Guess times have changed:)
Mrs. bought a retractable blade box cutter. Stanley with a bunch of buttons. No instructions. Spent a couple hours pushing all the buttons. No blade came out. Tried pulling and pushing with a pliers. Nada. Watched 3 videos where it worked for the demonstrator guy. They didn't work for me. And like usual, I opened a box with a paring knife from the kitchen cabinet. Ya think I should do a demo on You Tube ?
ReplyDeleteWatched at least 5 videos on YouTube on how to replace the nylon line on a weed whacker. Each did it a different way. Each demonstrator said it was easy. Maybe I'm stupid?
ReplyDeleteThe pancreatic enzymes that keep me from malnutrition are $16093.00 for a 3 month supply. After insurance I pay $30.00. There is nothing wrong with the science. People conveniently forget it was Dear Leader who encouraged the development of the vaccine, before he recommended that maybe injecting bleach or "a really bright light" might cure Covid. For me, I'm getting it. For those who refuse, I admit I find it difficult to muster up more than "Fifo" if that goes south on you. I have never seen a vaccinated person die of Covid. I have equally never seen a person die of complications of the vaccine.
ReplyDeleteLet me know when the nice ICE guys break into St. Jude's.
ReplyDeleteMy friend works in a job with a lot of public interaction. Early during the vax rollout a fair number of people including nurses came up to him to talk about adverse events that happened to people they knew after getting the covid shots. My friend himself got the shot because of his job and later developed a blood clot in his eye that required surgery. The eye doctor said it was caused by the vax. Pondering what are the odds my friend would know so many of the rare cases or become a rare case himself?
ReplyDeleteSome years back I decided that Prevagen, being based on jellyfish protein, could not be effective - given the IQ of a jellyfish. Last year
ReplyDeletethe company lost a court case wherein their own study showed that it had the same effect as the placebo group. As for Covid, middle daughter caught it from students last week and has been taping and sending video lectures from the couch wrapped in a blanket. (She is a professor of immunology and virology and shots were not available
yet.) We are signed up when they show up here. Interesting - since the introduction of the mNRA vaccines, the antigen load which used to be 3000 has dropped to 150. Dr. Gupta says that is a good thing.
No report from the jellyfish yet.
Get 100 experts in a room on any given subject. Get the experts who disagree with each other to leave then you have a shiny new consensus to present to the public. That's what happened with the jab.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the AMA, 98% of physicians are up to date vaccinated for Covid. So the other 2% are the experts? But you are right - in medical court cases you see one Dr. against the defendant and one for. For chemists it is simple: don't drink strychnine. Interesting weather out here - all week the sky has been orange gray, the sun being barely visible. We are down wind of all the wildfires. Which are going strong, now that ICE has invaded the professional fire crews.
ReplyDeleteNo complaints, just opinion.
You absolutely have not followed any of this. During the vax rollout medical experts who in any way questioned the covid vaccines were censored and suppressed on social media platforms like then Twitter and FB at the behest of the Biden Administration which btw fits the technical definition of censorship when the government gets involved and is unconstitutional but you only care about Trump authoritarianism. A good product doesn't need censorship to back it up.
DeleteI would also hazard a guess that most doctors these days are part of networks and have to get covid-vaxxed and push the covid shots or else lose their license. Not disputing your figures just adding context.
DeleteNapoleon Dynamite and Breakheart Pass were both filmed in Idaho.
ReplyDeleteFrom the ridiculous to the sublime.
A co-worker years ago recommended Napolean Dynamite but I didn't get anything out of it. Don't know how Ebert felt.
DeleteSo the covid authoritarianism of the past has somehow morphed into the more gentle you don't have to get the jab but Bobby is preventing me from getting my shots. It's my understanding you can still break up your busy day by sitting in the vax chair at CVS or Walgreens waiting your turn just that the guv'ment is no longer recommending the shots. I liked when he pointed out to the angry Senator Elizabeth Warren that she accepted over $200,000 from Big Pharma.
ReplyDeleteCDC is a mess. Thanks.
DeleteAlways been a mess. You are a conformist. Also a film by Bertolucci.
DeleteCorruption in the agencies. A kind of cross-pollination. People who work at Big Pharma then work at the FDA and vice versa. RFK Jr.'s selling point was to root this out among other things unless you're the pro-establishment status quo type who never questions institutions and authority. Of course Uncle Joe could do no wrong.
Deletei doubt anyone, including me is a fan of big Pharma - spent $$$ on TV advertising and use European, US Universities and research hospitals to do the work. If you and Geeez admire roadkill souffle and a drug addled childhood - he's your guy. Tis OK - First Amendment says so.
ReplyDeleteYep, Uncle Joe. *sigh*
Not my guy but imagine you get the shingles or polio vax and you still get shingles or polio and yet the medical establishment still pushes the product.
DeleteHas the US War Department invaded Yonkers yet?
ReplyDeleteLike I didn't know he had the power to rename stuff.
DeleteI like Brussel sprouts. Apparently that puts me in a small minority?
ReplyDeleteDidn't quite understand Saty's "Fifo" comment. Saty coming across like Nurse Ratched.
ReplyDeleteBrussels Sprouts need to be cooked long enough imo. Chef at work undercooked them once and they stuck in my teeth. I like them too. Good with butter.
ReplyDeleteBernie Sanders needs to pop a Prozac. He did say one true thing at the Senate hearing though that "we're all corrupt." Refreshing.
ReplyDeleteThe judgemental nurse. Someone has a melanoma. Saty: "That's on you. You stayed out in the sun too long.
ReplyDeleteI still have to look up "allopathic."
Dermatologists - some years back got referred to a dermatologist I have several old age cherry angiomas and she suspected a melanoma. I said, but the angiomas are harmless and many of us old people have them. Nevertheless, she sent me to a surgeon who laid me on my stomach and removed a porkchop sized hung off my shoulder blade. Big puddle of blood on the floor and several stitches.
ReplyDelete"Results came back negative, lucky you" I have avoided skin doctors ever since. Occasional basal cell carcinoma shows up, but I have had good luck treating it with compound W (ascorbic acid in glue).
Got rid of several that way, although the Mrs. has scars all over her shins from having it done properly. Self medicate - if nothing else works, there is Christian Brothers Brandy. is the era of snake oil salesmen returning? Do Jelly Fish take Prevagen?
When the War Department invades Yonkers and a feral cat drags home a drone, will Hegseth be furious and turn you over to Homan to be deported to Timbuktu?
ReplyDeleteHad a lump removed on my neck years ago. Since then became a little more educated on medical topics in general and looking back surprised they didn't ask me more questions before removing it. Nobody stuck a needle in it. Nobody suggested it might be a swollen lymph node just send him to a surgeon. $eems the way these days.
ReplyDeleteIs Christian Brothers a vaccine?
I'm sure Yonkers is on their itinerary just don't know when. Maybe I should trim my sidewalk again.
