I love playing with Google AI. So I asked it to produce a real Congressional Bill about this. You can see it at Shaw's site today, but here are the bones. Trump said the other day we've taken in $21 trillion in tariffs, essentially since April 2025. Taking him at his word and looking at our spending over the past two years, we've not seen any large $21 T spending anomalies, so we haven't used that money.
That means, if it exists, we still have it.
My bill, which the Dems should promote, accepts Trump at his word. We have 21 trillion bucks.
So let's spend it, in this order.
1. Use $15 T for the deficit, which will immediately lower interest rates around the world, including here in the US. 2. $3 T to shore up Social Security immediately securing that program for decades. 3. After the first two have been done and the treasury Secretary certifies it, we send out those $5000.00 checks. That will total about $1.5 trillion. 4. The rest goes to the general US fund.
There you go.
Again, the Dems should offer up that bill and force the GOP to either fund it with the $21 T POTUS Trump says we have, or admit the president has been lying to the American people.
Easy peasy. Makes me wonder where the political thinkers are.
This war is a mess. We're using weapons from our world stockpiles to attack a pissant little place, just because. And we can't make weapons fast enough to replace them.
But we can fund all this out of the $21 T also. Unless of course, our POTUS is lying to us.
The Navy? They're in charge of our Star Trek Force? The Navy? Not even the Air Force? And the Sec Def, excuse me, War, is asking for a 30% increase in funds from about $1 trillion, to $1.5 trillion, annually. No troop increase mind you. All for toys and things that go boom...
And yet Trump campaigned as the president of Peace who would preside over a Golden Economy. All wars across the globe would end and folks would finally be able to take that cruise.
You wake up and it's a different world. I remember when ai was just a nerdy theoretical concept.
I was thinking this. Let's say Trump did give out those DOGE checks early on and/or those tariff rebate checks no we can't afford it but I don't think he'd be so low in the polls right now. Even the ones who aren't fans would be like okay.
Excerpt from local newspaper headline this morning - "The only control or 'guardrails' that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (HIGH IQ!) PRESIDENT and the U.S.A. has tha,t in spades! Trump posted." Mrs, trying to find a trump allergy pill as CB makes her dizzy just from the smell.
My guess this one - Iago is most famously the master manipulator and main villain in William Shakespeare's tragedy Othello, and also the name of the loud-mouthed parrot in Disney's Aladdin.
A Trump promise isn't worth a wooden nickel.
