Lazy contractors

 I have to gripe.  Couple years back the lady who owns the house in the back had a new fence installed for her yard.  Very nice.  My Dad passed away a few years ago so I'm in charge now.  Caretaker of the land my land.  We have a spacious backyard.  Tall fence way in the back for privacy.  Thin slats of wood intertwined with metal coils.  My Dad would do some things in a totally makeshift sort of way.  Used to have morning glories creep up it back in the day but now the English Ivy got to it.  Dilapidated.  Can't afford a new fence right now.  DOGE never sent me my check.  Ordered some dog barrier fences online to fix some gaps at both ends.  Cleaning up there the other day.  Noticed many empty Sakrete plastic bags saying cement and sand and stuff beyond the barrier fence but still my property.  Also some old latticework.  Plastic bottles of Poland Spring with a lot of water still inside.  Wasn't there before.  A mess.  Look I don't even mind if you piss on my tree but what's with people not being able to finish off a simple 16 oz. bottle of water?  You don't have to be a Columbo to figure the fence installers left all that garbage there.

 Trump reveals the CIA is conducting covert operations in Venezuela.  Kinda like saying you have a mole in the Mafia.  Meanwhile Trump continues to blow fishing or drug boats out of the water.  Whatever happened to boarding the vessel first and checking for flares and life preservers?  Does Hegseth have enough hair gel?

A broken clock is right twice a day

 By my calcs for every ten bad things Trump does he does one good thing.  The release of the remaining hostages in Gaza or trying to get Big Pharma to lower drug prices.  So for Trump to do five good things he has to do fifty bad things.  You do the math.

 What would Norman Rockwell have done with this?  ICE goes viral.  Maybe these are the trainees who signed up for the 50K bonus.  At one point in the video (entire video about 4 minutes long) one ICE agent looks like he's trying to hump the poor guy.  In the middle of a busy Chicago street!  Horns honking, even a funeral procession passing through at one point.  Plenty of other ICE Follies vids on YouTube.  Compilations, best of moments.  A blend of Keystone Cops, Benny Hill and if the Little Rascals were grown up.  You can't make this shit up.  If I were new to blogging I'd probably use this as my blog title.

Homan should be hauled before Congress.  I sure hope these assholes don't come to Yonkers.   How long will it take to restore a normal fully functioning democracy again?

 Trying to grasp the importance of the Bad Bunny/Super Bowl halftime controversy but it eludes me.  That's next February.  Can we get through Halloween first?  Said to be one of the most popular global music sensations on the planet right now.  Where was I?  Kristi Noem getting involved.  ICE getting involved.  MTG getting involved.  The Latin rapper is gonna do his thing in Spanish.  Said to be anti-Trump.  Is that now a crime?  Wasn't NippleGate back in the day enough?  Maybe Homan can sing a few tunes.

A ragtag group of misfits

  Vance, Bondi, Patel, Homan, Hegseth, RFK Jr., Oz.  But somehow they'll survive.  I wonder if they ever wake up in the morning and have an inkling, a wisp of a suspicion their Boss is Nutz.  

Trump wasting time on Kimmel

 Jimmy Kimmel is back on late-night.  Trump is blasting him on his Truth Social.  Says he may pursue legal action against ABC.  OK this needs to be said as I've been fairly civil up until now and it needs to be said NOW.

This ISN'T conservatism this is just assholeism. 

Trump is not guided by any consistent political or even philosophical principles just his own Ego.  I have a more mundane analysis of Kimmel's low ratings and it has nothing to do with politics or lack of talent.  Most people have to go to work early the next day and are not going to stay up to hear the late-nighters' take on the day's events.  Conan, whoever.  Even many retirees go to bed after Wheel of Fortune.  As for me by Kimmel time I've long since downed the last few drops of the Christian Brothers and hit the hay.  Nothing political about it.

BTW I didn't know Tylenol/autism was even a thing.  Take it from Dr. Trump.  Maybe I need to get out more;)

Why I was against the Jimmy Kimmel suspension

 There's the free speech thing of course but more than this it makes Kimmel into an undeserved martyr and he will return Tuesday night puffed up with his own self-importance.  Also his lame joke about the Charlie Kirk shooter being MAGA widely missed the mark.  If you read the kid's texts to his trans lover right after the shooting he's not all that right-wing as it turns out.  Middle-wing or even left-wing maybe but since Kimmel is way past my bedtime anyway meander down any tributary stream of discussion you like.  My bones are getting old.  In my drawer I have the Tylenol arthritis version.  What do I do now?

How does attrition affect the job numbers?

 Economics not being my strong suit.  It is not an uncommon business practice that when someone leaves, passes on or retires the company doesn't replace them.  Many companies probably won't even officially acknowledge they've adopted a policy of attrition but the remaining workers are bound to notice over time.  Everybody else has to work harder of course and in some cases you're left with a skeleton crew.  I feel like at work in our department we're skeletal or close to it.  So rather than rambling further I would submit that Trump instead of firing some top labor stats person should make a sincere effort to understand the numbers better if they are poor.  The question: how common is the business policy of attrition and how significantly does it affect the jobs report?

 During his two day testimony before the Senate and House FBI Director Kash Patel claimed Jeffrey Epstein only trafficked young girls to himself.  He further said previous administrations looked into the matter and could find no credible evidence that other clients even existed.  According to news reports Patel did not read any of the reports himself or interview any of the surviving victims.  Now a word from our sponsors......

Trump wants to ban drug advertising on TV

I see it as a free speech issue but Trump being Trump wants to protect us.  I see a little Bobby influence here.  RFK Jr. the nation's doctor.  Actually these Big Pharma produced TV ads are so well made you want the drug even if you don't have the ailment.  Guy or gal climbing a mountain at sunrise or kayaking.  Rare side effects may include swallowing your tongue or sticking your head in the oven.  I don't think Trump will ever get to the cost-of-living in his second term.  Too much on his plate.  Maybe he's saving it for his third term.

D.C. police apparently not obeying their ICE overlords so Trump may declare another emergency.   Rubio and Bibi meet in Israel to discuss possible annexation of the West Bank.  Bibi bombing high-rises in Gaza City for no apparent reason.  If the Supremes don't approve of Trump's tariff policy he may have to pay the money back.  Good times.

Charlie Kirk

Conspiracy theorists are already saying Netanyahu and the Mossad had right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk assassinated.  For the record I do not subscribe to this but the thought occurred Bibi is out of control at the moment and it's not entirely out of the realm.  Many people even experts are describing yesterday's events at Utah Valley University as a professional hit.  One precise shot from a rooftop at least 200 yards away and the bullet hit Kirk's jugular.  Cops recovered a high-powered bolt-action rifle from the scene.  The FBI describe the shooter as college age and are said to have recovered palm and forearm prints.  Image released of person of interest.  Broad condemnation of the act from both the Left and the Right.  I'll save further thoughts for the Comments section.

If Hamas leaders are vacationing in Paris

Does Bibi then bomb Paris?  What are the Rules of War anymore?  Trump gave a muted response to the latest saying he wasn't thrilled by Tuesay's attack by Israel targeting senior Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital of Doha.  Trump wants to keep his jet but also Bibi as a BFF.  Reading Zionist reaction online to the strike saying Netanyahu has balls of steel and now has a real achievement under his belt.  Meanwhile there's been a little Polish action in the Russia/Ukraine War first time a NATO member got involved in the conflict.  Poland said it shot down Russian drones that invaded its airspace.  Mad players on the world scene.  Putin Bibi and Trump.  What could go wrong?

I suppose I have to talk about it

 I had wanted things to become less contentious around here but it's inescapable.  RFK Jr. being grilled by the Senate.  From the clips I watched seemed mainly about covid and the covid vaccines.  They really built a religion around these covid vaccines so many people were predicting there would be an orchestrated coordinated attack against RFK Jr. by the elites right about now.  In fact there's a leaked memo from Bio about this.  The rest of us have moved on however but some people are still taking the shots.  I'm not sure when full immunity is supposed to kick in maybe after the 17th booster?  I'm thinking there would be at least a public clamoring for a better product on the market by now.  This is not about the public health it's about the $$$$$$.  I didn't want to go down this road again.  Not a fanboy of RFK Jr. but a large swath of the public has lost faith in ThE SciEnCe.  You know it's really weird the Left used to criticize Big Pharma.  Guess times have changed:)

So when does Trump take over Yonkers?

Scanning my daily Trump feed and there's always something that jumps out.  Today it's Trump threatens to take over the city of Chicago.  The possible scenarios I can come up with to justify the feds taking over any police force are scant indeed.  Say 90% of that police force is racist or else extremely incompetent or corrupt.  With Trump policy however one of the cardinal guiding principles is to take the most drastic action first.  To fight crime why don't Trump and Vance just put on superhero capes and come to a town near you?  If this is conservatism then I have tits;)

Judges don't set trade policy

 Federal Appeals Court says many of Trump's tariffs are illegal.  Seems to me trade policy is of no concern to the Judiciary.  I don't personally agree with most of Trump's tariffs but seems to me he has the right to do it.  That power is rightfully and solely invested in the Executive Branch.  The President should have the right to do some things.  Seems to me.  What does it seem to you?

The Trump Follies

Some might say every day but I would say maybe every three days or so I see a strange Trump headline.  It's totally random and without reason.  One day he might outlaw Smokey the Bear.  He might rename a bridge after Melania or build an ICE center in the Grand Canyon.  It could be whatever.  He might wake up one morning and decide the American Triangle is a more fitting name than the Bermuda Triangle.  I've taken some editorial license here but Junior ICE agents might be a real thing.  So now the latest blurb I've seen is the FBI raids the Maryland home of former National Security Advisor John Bolton who served under Trump the first time.  Many times now I just read the headline and don't delve much into the story.  I had thought now that we're into Trump's second and hopefully final term the weirdness would peter out after awhile and we could return to normal governing but no.  The current surreal landscape of American politics.  Like Dali applied to Trump.  It's an art form.

Does Trump have plans for a Greater Israel?

 Bibi has a dream, a vision for a Greater Israel.  Not a fan of the 2 State solution.  In it he gets all of Gaza of course, Lebanon, parts of Syria and Saudi Arabia, the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, Iraq, part of Yonkers?  He sees this as a Biblical mandate, a spiritual mission.  Pure Zionism.  Bibi's Greater Israel Project.  What's in it for Trump?

Gain of Fauci

 So what's new on the health front?  YouTube is the McDonaldizing of information so I tend to go there.  Bite-size med news.  Casual hobby of mine poking around health topics.  Did not know gum disease can cause severe headaches.  Teeth can be at the root of a lot of stuff.  The human body is complicated.  The lymphatic system is your sewer system and it can get clogged from time to time.  In my YouTube feed.  After 60 everything goes downhill.  Ass leakage, fungal toes.  Sore hip.  Hair growing out of your ears.  Scattered sleep.  You laugh you pull a muscle.  Brain fog.  Nowadays when you see the doctor you're supposed to tell him what drug you want him to put you on.  Saw an old guy once in the library walking down the stairs backwards.  My late Dad did that.  Supposed to ease the pain or something.   Things to look forward to.

I still have my goblet of Christian Brothers in the evening and two good cups of strong coffee in the morning.   No rest for the weary.  Keep going.  Learn some things.  Posting about Trump everyday hurts the brain.
