Better him than Osama

So Saddam is no more. What do you say to a woman when your line of work is executioner? I can at least say I made quiche the other day at work, "oh really? How much heavy cream do you use? How much cheddar to Swiss?"

"I helped kill Saddam."
"Oh"

Death penalty is primitive and barbaric but people's minds are made up so I don't much debate it anymore, it serves their most primal emotional need of revenge which they dress up as retributive justice. They say they filmed it so Saddam's killing will probably wind up on Faces of Death, sure to be a collector's item among the rabid right. Sean better put in for it now while supplies last.People who masturbate your mind

  1. Capital punishment (one of those phrases people use so it doesn't sound like what it actually is, killing a human being) certainly is primative and barbaric. It doesn't bring back those he killed, and if he was kept in prison the rest of his life he would never be able to hurt anyone again.

I prefer to let God be the final judge.

  2. Here are some more thoughts to end 2006. Capital punishment has been around for centuries, it doesn't stop people from doing terrible things, so I cannot see why it is still used.

Personally, as a pro-life person, I see the death penalty as people justifying the killing of another human being for the convenience factor, and hell ain't that what the pro-abortion people want to do? Yes, I know innocent babies are not the same as murderous criminals, but at the heart of the debate is that we as a society want to justify killing a human being, and as a civilized society this just isn't logical, nor is it moral. (Two wrongs do not make a right, right??)

Anyway, my z-man friend, as this year winds down I do want to publically thank you for speaking for what is right. It is so refreshing to know there is at least one person in this world with whom I agree with almost all the time. God bless you and I wish you well in 2007!

  3. Hey, z-man, long time reader, first time responder. I am a pro-life advocate, but I do agree with the sentiments that saving vicious criminals from the death penalty is not the same as saving innocent babies.

As for you making quiche, how can that woman say you are undesirable when you can make quiche? :)

  4. The thing with the death penalty and the pro-lifers is it's at best a partial contradiction but not a total one, there are distinctions as you say Sarah. Re quiche I don't go with that old recipe that calls for 75% Swiss, too bland, get some more cheddar going but don't go crazy with pouring the eggs and heavy cream in your pie shell, it'll all go over in the end.

  6. Take the credit, you dummy!

    If I were a Hang-Man for a living, I wouldn't want to wear a mask,
Why can't people just stand up and say that they are sorry for the bad thing that they did or said? Mel Gibson put down Jews when he was drunk and later said that this is not the kind of person that he is. Michael "Kramer" Richards calls audience members at a comedy club "niggers" and then says "that was not me, I don't know where it came from." Some college football player not that long ago flipped his middle finger at someone or the other team when he was coming off the field and later said "that is not the kind of person that I am." Miss Nevada disgraces her crown, behaves poorly and is photographed kissing a woman then says "that was not me, that is not the kind of person I am.. I hate everybody and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
