There are laws on the books in many states, or proposed legislation, to treat drivers who have gone without sleep the same as drunken drivers. Makes a certain degree of sense but then again most people commute to work in cars, are you supposed to call out sick whenever you've had a sleepless night? Insomniacs hold down jobs just like the rest of us, maybe you can get away with calling out once or twice but what do the chronics do? will your typical boss understand that you may have a medical condition and you are trying to obey the Law? will the problems of Life never cease?
stranded in civilization.
I keep hearkening back to the trend of only having one day off a week instead of two, it ain't healthy. I'm sure the insomniacs would agree, if that problem night precedes one of your two days off then you just stay home and take a nap. I find one day off depressing, you have to cram everything into that one day and towards evening you pretty much see the handwriting on the wall, you have to wait a whole new week for your next only day off and make plans for that and so on ad infinitum. I don't get this one.
ReplyDeletei'm not sure but i thought there was a law somewhere that you have to have a couple days off and things like you can't work 9 straight days in a row, have to look it up and get back to you.
ReplyDeleteBeth, you wanna plug Mid-Nite again? So far I can't find it.
