Obama and the birthers

I think he's just messin' with 'em. He probably has his birth certificate in his back pocket but if they wanna think I'm a spearchucker from Kenya so be it. Trump is kinda reviving the whole birther thing with his quasi-bid for president. He was rapping with Meredith Vieira this morning, always entertaining. The other thing is Obama honoring Sharpton and his National Action Network in Harlem the other day does not and will not appeal to the White Voter next time around, just seeing Sharpton's face in the paper gets my Dad upset. That YouTube video of that kid screaming he wants to be governor of New Jersey, NOT funny. Annoying, irritating in a white suburban kind of way and please don't give it the time of day. There's a 300+ pound black NYC Councilman who wants to ban toys from McDonald's Happy Meals. You see here's the thing, people who pass too many laws don't think they're passing too many laws and that's the root of the problem. I was doing some research on feral cats the other day and came across "Glendale CA woman evicted from apartment for feeding feral cats". Dunno why but animals seem to be a polarizing topic for alot of folks, people seem to either love 'em or hate 'em. Andrea Peyser of the New York Post, she's a great writer otherwise and don't know why but she's firmly in the latter category. So we gotta cover everything in the Law these days, stray cats, Happy Meals, pissing in the woods ("no human excreta may be deposited within 500 feet of any marsh, spring or watercourse...," see I still remember my fishing license handbook after all these years). I think what Trump is saying is we got a feral president, probably eats caterpillars and digs ball bugs from the barks of trees when he's not putting plates in his mouth:)

  1. I don't know what to make of the Trumpster. I can only guess he gets his haircuts at the same place
    as Cyndi Lauper....

  2. The buzz is that Obama was born in Hawaii and yet similarly there's buzz that his Social Security number(s) doesn't jive with that.

Born here, there, everywhere...I don't give a shit cuz his policy still sucks and the GOP establishment isn't coughing up much different so it's a zero sum/lose lose game.

You think Trump would change that? The only thing Trump has going for him with respect to Presidential credentials is the fact that he has experience in filing bankruptcy and not paying his creditors in the process. In this regard, given the country's fiscal dilema, he might be a good fit.

Even still, his hairdo sucks. I can just see him and Romney duking it out now. Battle of the hairdos.

    Meh.

  3. Hi Z,
I'm actually Glad that you Brought Up the Feral Cat Issue, cause it Gives me an Excuse to Talk about Another Animal Issue in Our Neighborhood that is Actually Quite Sad and has to Do with the Stupidity of Law, on the One Hand, and the Lack of Law, on the Other.

We have a Lunatic Neighbor who has Actually been Shooting Dogs in Order to Protect Three (No not 40 or 50; Only Three) Chickens. He Actually Shot and Killed a $500 4 Month Old Puppy (Family Pet; No, Not Full Grown Large Dog; just a Small Breed Puppy) for the Sake of Protecting Three Lousy Chickens.

On the First Day, he Shot it with a BB Gun, to Chase it a Way. On the Second Day he Shot it 4 Times with a Shot Gun and Killed it Dead. He did not Attempt to Find Out Who Owned the Puppy so that he Could Warn them to Keep him on a Lease or in his Pen. After he Shot it, he would have just Put it in his Trash Can, if a Cop had not been Called; again not Caring who Owned the Puppy.

The Puppy had been Purchased for the 4 Year Old Child of Someone who has just Recently Moved into Our Neighborhood. The Child is Devastated. The Three Chickens ($2 to $3 a Piece) are Unharmed. The Puppy Never Entered their Pen. The Sheriff is not Going to do a Single Thing about it. Aside from Horses, I am not Aware of any Other Chickens or Farm Animals Anywhere else in Our Area. Our Entire Neighborhood is Upset and Angry at this Neighbor.

All this, for the Sake of Three Chickens, and yet a Lady in Glendale was Evicted for Feeding Cats. There's Something Wrong with this Picture.

  4. Oh, and Last I Heard, Obama was Born in Indonesia.

  5. At least some one has the guts to call Obama on this.
And Trump is just the one to do it.

    Go Donald.

  6. It's corruption Lista plain and simple. There could be something going down in Yonkers too as cats that used to come around are no longer to be found. It's not that I miss all of them but the departures were so abrupt it's mysterious. They say people who treat critters this way are just this step away from becoming serial killers. Sad story:)

  7. So far Mal the Donald makes alot of sense to me. I mean why would Obama spend $2 million in legal fees over the whole birth thing? I know he's Trump but even a broken clock can be right two times out of the day.

  8. Why doesn't Obama just show his birth certificate and so people stop talking about it?

  9. Beth that's the weird part.

Thats exactly what I've been saying for 2 years.

  11. & what have you gotten for your troubles?

  12. If you spent $500 on a dog (in itself a travesty that fosters the ongoing tragedy of puppy mills) for your four year old, no one should have to tell you to keep it on a leash and/or contained.

We live in an area where dogs are routinely stolen and/or shot for the sake of their license tags. Hunters take the tags and put them on their dogs so they don't have to pay the tag fees.

Our dog was rescued at four months old with a broken leg. Because she's chow and pit, the county law said that if she remained unclaimed they would put her down. We claimed her, paid $600 (that's with a 50% discount for being a rescue) for 2" of bone to be removed from the broken leg and replaced with a steel pin and have spent the last 13 years spoiling her positively rotten. She doesn't go ANYWHERE outside the house that one of us isn't where we can see her, and we live on a very isolated piece of land.

The point is that if you love your pet then you take care of them and keep them safe, not let them run free and then pitch a fit when they get hit by a car or shot by a chicken-loving neighbour.

In my opinion: that's their fault. Want your dog to live and be happy? Want your kid to not cry because the dog is dead? Take the initiative to keep your animals leashed, contained, monitored. Otherwise, far as I'm concerned, anything that happens to them is on your own head.

  13. And I find the irony simultaneously hysterical and pathetic:

the same people who accuse liberals of 'destroying American Family Values' are praising the man who does unethical, dishonest business deals and brags about it afterwards. The man who's been bankrupt (despite his multi-multi millionaire status) multiple times, and got away without paying his bills. The man who's been married how many times? Oh yeah, this is who you want protecting American Family Values, right? A good example for your kids, right? An upstanding example of American Ingenuity And Exceptionalism, right?

    The hypocrisy is staggering.

My own opinion: like everything else Trump gets into, he's doing it for himself and the sake of the money. This is a tremendous ratings game for him and not much else. Why would he pick the previously-thoroughly-debunked birther myth to hone in on? Couldn't he have chosen something that wouldn't make him look quite as much an asshole? Perhaps he can't help that, though.

I did see where he got a gig with Fox News. Apparently he's their kind of guy. Dishonest, unethical, and willing to brag about it in the media. And apparently a darling of the conservatives.

  14. Your Response is Interesting, Satyavati, yet since Our Entire Neighborhood is Angry about this Shooting, it is Apparent to me that the Culture in your Area is Different than in Ours.

Aside from the Fact that Some Dogs Get Out of Yards all the Time, Regardless of how Cautious the Owners are, the Saddest Part is that the Lease Law in Our Area has not Been Enforced and there have been Dogs Running Free Here for Centuries. That is the Culture. That is what Everyone is Used to. Having a Dog Shooter in the Neighborhood is a New Problem that has Never Been there Before.

I don't have a Four Year Old, Satyavati. This is what Happened to a Neighbor and I am not Going to Judge this Neighbor for Purchasing a $500 Dollar Dog, nor am I Going to Make a Comparison between them and you to See who is the Better Person. That is your Issue, not Mine.

No One Likes the Neighbor who has been Shooting Dogs, because in General he is just an Inconsiderate Person who has on many Occasions Stirred Up Trouble with the Neighbors.

I Understand your Point, Satyavati, yet I Feel that you are Being Quite Insensitive.

And as to your Other Comment, as I was Reading that One, I Realized that you Must be Having a Really Bad Day.

  15. What I'm saying, Lista, is that if you love someone or something, you take pains to take care of it.

If you let your kid roam the neighborhood and the kid gets abducted, you should have been watching your kid.

If you let your dog roam the neighbourhood and your dog gets shot or hit by a car, you should have been watching your dog.

    That's pretty straightforward common sense.

Donald Trump is an ass and a hypocrite, and I find it both pathetic and amusing that Fox News finds him so suitable for them, and I find it both ridiculous and yet typical that the same people who scream that liberals are destroying family values would laud a man whose entire career is predicated on ripping people off. And then, of course, bragging about it.

And you can kindly refrain from making judgements, since you're not making judgements on anyone else, on the quality of my day. In fact I had quite a fabulous day and I plan to have another one tomorrow.

  16. You Know, Satyavati, Once I Got Thinking about what you Said, as well as my Own Response to you, I Realized Something about this Dog Issue. You are Right in a Way that these Neighbors should have Watched their Dog a Little more Closely. Especially if this Puppy was Indeed Only 4 Months Old.

Shoot! We were Told when we Got Our Samoyed that due to the Possibility of Parvo, it's not a Good Idea to Even Walk them much, at that Age, too Far from the House Until they have Received All of their Puppy Shots.

We just Bought Our New Neighbors (They Just Recently Moved in) a Sympathy Card and Plan to Go Talk to them and Make Sure that we have all of Our Facts Straight. Maybe the Puppy is Actually Older than that.

All that I Wanted you to Realize is that this is an Area in which the Shooting of Dogs is not a Common Occurrence. Aside from the Fact that this Guy Only has Three Chickens, He Also Only has one Acre of Land. Some of the Neighbors have More than that, yet Even so, the Houses are Much Closer Together then in a Typical Farming Community. And Worse Yet he is Only About 250 Feet from an Elementary School and should not Be Shooting a Gun that Close to a School.

The Neighbors Don't Like this guy for a Whole Number of Reasons and if he were to Move, I'm sure that there would not be Many that would Complain about it.

I don't Know Much about what you are Referring to as the Unethical, and Dishonest Business Deals of Donald Trump, so I'll Let Someone Else Respond to that.

"And you can kindly refrain from making judgments"

That's Rather Hypocritical of you, Satyavati, when you have Made a Judgment about the Puppy Coming from a Puppy Factory, when you do not Know that for a Fact. You just Sounded Angry in your Comments, that's all.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I neversaid the puppy came from a mill. What I said is that people being willing to pay money for animals fosters the continuance of puppy mills.

Thousands of animals are put down every day because they don't get adopted out from shelters. For these animals to be passed over and instead large money paid for other animals is indeed a travesty.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry I Touched on a Pet Peeve of Yours, Satyavati, but that does not Justify what Our Trigger Happy Neighbor did, nor the Fact that the Family has Suffered a Lose.

You Never Know. His Next Victim Might be an Older Adopted Dog.

  19. I don't think any of us can argue with the wisdom of what Saty just said but that doesn't change the fact that the farmer is a deranged asshole.

  20. Z-man's Comment Said it all and I even Feel Strangely Like saying Thank You for saying a Word that I don't Ever allow myself to say. Shame on me for Actually Appreciating the Profanity, yet I can't Help myself for Feeling that Way.

He's not Even a Farmer, though. He Only has Three Chickens. He has Quail too, but they are Inside a Building that is not Accessible to Outside Animals. They don't Require an Out Door Pen.

I'd Like to Hear more About Trump, though. What is it that he did that has Angered Satyavati so? Give me the Specifics.

  21. As I said the topic of animals for some reason seems to polarize people, they either love 'em or hate 'em. How 'bout a third option, be at least indifferent to them and let other people have their pets. Trump is another polarizing issue for alot of folks. Besides some personality issues and occasional jibes about his hair I never felt that strongly about The Subject so maybe she can fill us in.
