The BIG issue in Ohio

jobs going overseas, NAFTA and GATT, plants closing, massive layoffs. Now here Republicans don't have any edge whatsoever although of course as has been amply pointed out in our blogs McCain ain't your typical conservative so maybe he can feel their pain but the issue naturally is a winner for any Democrat. Repubs are perfectly fine with the NWO (New World Order) stuff and they tend to belittle and disparage those who disagree with them...but I like Beth's point in her blog today about how most of us are going for McCain reluctantly whereas Obama excites real passion on his side. I used the analogy that for our side it's like going out with someone who you're not exactly crazy about like bothering some overharried secretary at work 'cause you're lonely as opposed to someone you really dig, who you're on the same page with, the connection (pizzaz, sizzle) in other words your dream date (I'm just chock full of the metaphors lately). Imagine an Obama-ite saying he ain't much but he's the best we have! Now I don't share Obama's political philosophy of course but he does excite me, like Stacy's mom he has it going on, turn gay for a day, have his baby,

dunno.

  1. NY Post TV critic Adam Buckman had a problem with this joke that Jon Stewart told at the Oscars, "Oscar just turned 80 years old so naturally he's the front-runner for the Republican nomination", thought it was anti-old or something but I thought it was a funny line, true too, you had Bob Dole at one time...

  2. One reason I don't watch the Oscars is because of all the stupid political jokes they make.

DD2 reported that this year's Oscars were the lowest ratings ever, I am not surprised.

  3. I didn't even know the movie that won, I need to get out more.

  4. I hadn't heard of it either, so don't feel bad.

  5. Are we both living in the same cave? lol However if there be conservatism living in that cave might not be such a bad place like the island idea you used recently in your blog.

  6. You mean the Conservative Utopia? I'm not holding my breath for that to exist anywhere.

As for living in a cave since we don't know about today's movies, aren't movie theatres like caves, all dark and cut off from reality? It's the moviegoers who are living in caves, not us, Z.

  7. The last few movies I went to the audio was way too loud especially for those action flicks, even if I sit way in the back it's still a burden to have to sit through some movies and then they never start at the listed time, you get about 15-20 minutes of previews. Going to the movies, for me at least, has become a kind of annoying experience at best.

  8. Not just previews, but now we get full fledged commercials when we go to the movies.

    We should get a discount!

  9. like that Samsung commercial. You know what I really miss though, movie intermissions at least during the long ones. Most people, if a movie is really good, will hold it in and sit through it and then when the credits start to roll there's a mad stampede to the restrooms, ain't healthy, going to the pictures should be an enjoyable experience.

  10. That's why you shouldn't buy those extra large drinks when you go to the movies. They are like 32 oz., well maybe 16 oz. plus the ice.

  11. As for NAFTA, I think it was like Pandora's box, once it was opened I'm not sure you can close it.

  12. I agree with you about those extra large drinks, everything in moderation as you say. Ever lie in bed at night when you have to work the next day wondering why you had to have that caffeinated beverage so late into the evening? not only that you'll be getting up alot to use the bathroom, it's the same with liquor, 1-3 small drinks mixed with Ginger Ale does the trick, gets you relaxed and you sleep good but that extra one, you start picking at issues in your life, ditto overeating, no reason in the world to get to grow to over 500 lbs. let's say and be a regular guest on Springer. Here here for moderation.

  14. RUSH is always fond of saying middle-of-the-roaders get run over, people naturally gravitate to the Right or Left it seems. Of course the way the msm tells it there's the Far Right way over there and the rest of us reasonable folk, no such thing as a Far Left.

  15. por ejemplo you can even support partial-birth abortion and still the media will refer to you as a moderate so a liberal would be for what exactly, one-week infanticide limits? well yeah, animal rights theologian Peter Singer got the ball rolling on that one, if only he were "moderate" and supported late-term abortions...

  16. The MSM needs a 12 step program to realize they lean left.

  17. I've always said that. To hear them crow about their objectivity...
