Nancy Pelosi supports the "Fairness Doctrine"

She said that the proposed bill by Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), called the "Broadcaster's Freedom Act" which would outlaw the "Fairness Doctrine", will not come up for a vote this year and she wants a revival of the "Fairness Doctrine." Dunno what the issue here is exactly. The msm are overwhelmingly liberal, talk radio is strongly conservative, no harm no foul. One side admits their bias, the other doesn't. As John Stossel once noted "asking the media about liberal bias is like asking a fish about water. Water? what water?" & at any rate free market forces have already determined that liberal talk radio is a big loser, does Al Franken and Air America ring a bell?

  1. It is this sort of crap that makes me look at people who vote Democrat and wonder, do you realize how anti-American your leadership is? Do you really believe they understand the Constitution and are being servants of it? Are you paying attention here?!?

  2. Think about it though, we already have antitrust laws and regulations in business to ensure there is "fair and honest competition" (whatever that means) so if you apply liberalism consistently this is no surprise. To apply an Atlas analogy here should this come to pass think of Sean as Hank Rearden and Laura Ingraham as Dagny Taggart.

  3. Good heavens I don't see Sean as being anywhere as strong a character as Hank.

  4. What are we gonna do about Imus?

  5. My own thoughts about Imus is he should retire. It's not because I dislike him, I don't, but as Lionel once pointed out re the whole nappy-headed ho's deal is his act is so yesterday, it's like some juggler whom people no longer want to see. His humor/commentary is perfectly free speech but it's from a bygone age when people upon hearing it, even if it wasn't their cup of tea would go "yeah, oh well." The latest kerfuffle doesn't seem to have as much steam as the last time but he should do himself a favor. Since he can't really change what he is, he's a shock jock in part after all, do yourself a favor and call it a career.

  6. Sean as Hank?? Yikes. I'm sorry but I see Sean as more like a James Taggart (carrying the water for his collective group). Hank did his own thing and made no apologies for it. I don't think Sean fits that mold at all.

    Maybe Rush as Hank.....

  7. You're right, very imperfect analogy and I knew it going in. Rush, I haven't listened to him in quite some time like I used to, what's he been up to?

  8. I don't tend to listen to him that much either but the last times I did, he was very critical of McCain (and rightfully so I might add).

Sean has been too I suppose but his a bit slow on the uptake if you will. He's opted to turn his attention for the past year on the "Stop Hillary Express" which has now morphed into the "Stop Obama Express". Great endeavors I suppose but it doesn't do a lick of good for Conservatism when John McCain is your option.

Rush on the other hand seems to have Conservatism as his guiding philosophy and hasn't wavered from it.

  9. The only guy I really listen to regularly on the radio is Jason Lewis (he fills in for Rush on occasion; in fact he filled in last Friday). If you go here Z you can check out podcasts if you want:

  10. The "Stop Hillary Express", ironic in hindsight.

  12. who needs a fairness doctrine passed?

Check out Google and Yahoo's search engine links..see how few Conservatives there are anymore? Frontpagemag.com has shrunken to about 1/3 the size it was for 7 years or so...the threads are down from 400 to 30 very often!! People just don't hear about it anymore!

Yup, the Left has found a way to silence the Right without having to pass any law. Just don't refer to Conservative articles/links...that'll show 'em!

I think Imus has to go, too. what possessed him? Does he LIKE going hat in hand like a 3 yr old who broke his neighbor's window to AL SHARPTON!? WHAT? you can't make this stuff up! z GIRL!!

  13. Well it has nothing at all to do with pc for me. Let's just say before the nappy-headed ho's thing I kind of forgot he was on the air, that's why. Also, if you have to apologize or explain or clarify after every third comment to stretch my point here it's like cumbersome. Imagine any other comedian or commentator doing this, Jackie Mason for instance stopping his monologue halfway - "let me just explain something here" - it just doesn't roll along or work for me but that's just my .02.

  14. Z Girl, if it makes you feel better, I did read somewhere that it is typical for online sites to be more active for the political party that is NOT in the White House. So, when Obama becomes POTUS, then you'll see conservative sites gain. In theory at least.

  15. Not to mention the revival of Rush Limbaugh who, let's face it, really became the biggest conservative commentator out there when Bill Clinton was in office for eight long ones. Benefits everyone.

  16. You think we could survive Obama don't you?

  17. I'm trying not to think about it. Have to do some more research to add to my playlist and favorite videos, get back to my field guide to the mammals book.

  18. I am trying to get used to the idea so that when it happens I won't be overly depressed. Adding the fact that the GOP's candidate also sucks though makes it very difficult to be upbeat about the next election.

  19. I'm just wondering in '012 when Obama is up for re-election who we're gonna have batting for us, how old's he gonna be? (oh forgot, not supposed to bring ageism into all of this), will he even be faithful to conservative ideals? the kind that put Ronald Reagan into office or will he be another RINO or will they have learned their lesson? doubt it though, we're known as the Stupid Party after all and not without reason. have you begun stockpiling the Zoloft yet?
