Will the Hilary Rosen remarks rise to the occasion?

By which I mean will she get the Rush treatment? I never really heard of this chick before as I usually don't watch CNN except when they have it on it seems all the time on the big Akai screen when I'm in the waiting room at the doctor's office and even then I'm not really paying attention ("just tell me when I'm gonna die doc!") but CNN commentator Hilary Rosen said about Ann Romney the wife of Mitt Romney: "Ann Romney has never actually worked a day in her whole life" this despite Ann Romney having raised five kids. Echoes of the other Hillary and chocolate-chip cookies and it seems to be a deeply-rooted feminist theme firmly stuck in their subconscious this business of the Stay At Home Moms (how dare they!). When Rush called Sandra Fluke a slut and a prostitute it was The Most Evil Thing Ever Said (well the I-man once said nappy-headed 'hos so it's a tossup here) and libs are still talking about it or let me put it this way they haven't forgotten it and payback is a bitch. I actually find the Rosen comments somewhat more offensive but that's just me. Now President Obama and many assorted Democratic figures have rightly denounced and distanced themselves from the Rosen remarks and good for them, I've no complaint but that's not what I'm talking about here but rather will it have staying power? will it become a kind of weekslong obsession with calls for boycotts and other delectable punishments? In short will she get Rushed?

  1. Of course there will be no calls for boycotts, no war on women mantra stemming from this thoughtless comment, and of course no apology from Rosen. In other words, typical double standards here folks.

  2. when will the women wise up and dump these Liberal jerkoffs?

  3. I see the dems have all apologized
    and distanced themselves. ..but
when someone is called a slut, the GOP remained silent. IMO, depends on how one defines working women
    and what a http://www.thefreedictionary.com/slut
    is .

AND THAT SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF IT?

WHY DIDN'T YOU AND YOUR BUD'S SAY THAT WHEN RUSH APOLOGIZED?

WHY DO WE ALWAYS HEAR THE SAME OLD CRAP FROM YOU DEMS!

You ALWAYS WANT people to be held accountable for your words, don't you?

  5. Z-man, and by extension Darth...

The Democratic Leadership quickly and publicly condemned the remarks of Hillary Rosen.

They did not say they would have used other words, they said what she said was wrong, plain and simple.

No Republican leader did that in the wake of the Limbaugh comments.

Rosen also did not spend three days continuing to say how bad Ann Romney was, did she? No. After one day, she apologized. Was it genuine? Who knows, I guess it was probably as genuine as the one from Rush.

As for Boycott calls, boycott what?

Finally, while we may not like her remarks, they seem to actually be in line with romney's past comments that are now coming to light...

Exactly Boycott what? But give these Loons a few minutes they'll think of something to boycott. A true Lib will never let the chance to Boycott go to waste.

  7. The Obamas don't care what the American people think of their lifestyles.
And the Liberal sheep don't even say a word about ti. They just go about their business calling us Tax Paying Americans Tea-Baggers, Fat Cats and Racist Whites.
It has been obvious from the beginning that he and his wife and family were planning to take full advantage of the perks offered by his Office, starting with their date night in New York City using Air Force One.
Why the hell isn’t anyone making a stink about this?

  8. Dave I did note that many Dems have condemned her remarks but the point I'm making is will we be talking about her comments as long as we talked about Rush's comments? Boycott her show I guess or CNN or the show she appeared on but BB as to your point maybe Obama and the Democrats learned from the Rush debacle, no Republican leader condemning his remarks pointed the way to we'll show them how much better we are when the opportunity presents itself. Pre-Rush's slut comments you'd be hard-pressed to find Dems condemning many of the things liberal windbags on the air have said, just my take:)

  9. "Ann Romney has never actually worked a day in her whole life" was a very poor choice of words and as near as I can tell everyone
    north of hannity has apologised.
I worked at a factory where single
moms with three kids would drop them off someplace to start their
6AM-4PM shift lifting 45 lb transfer plates all day. Then they
would go and pick up the kids. So,
I'm guessing the comparison should have been "Ann Romney worked hard as a mother, but not as a mother,
    factory worker, sole provider"?
BTW, if the kids got sick, and the mom missed too much time, she was summarily fired. I pretty sure
    Rush Limpbrain would call them
    sluts, huh? Golly gee, Z-man,
    your replacements for Saty and
    Shaw are irritating. :)

  10. Z-man, you may be right on the Dems learning... but it is not as if the the GOP should not have seen this coming... Rush has made stupid statements before.

They could have used this as their Sistah Souljah moment like Clinton did in 1992...

BB, they are not replacements... they are essentially the same person writing under different monikers, probably to make Ad Sense $$$.

I have seen the exact same comments from a few different people with very like profiles, friends, and URL's. Word for word copies... if they are not the same person, then they are stealing copy from each other...

    Shadows of themselves.

It is what makes the blogs a bore.

  12. Amen to that Soapy, and when called on it, they dissemble...

For the record, I am rooting for the Paulistas at the convention.

I hate that those vents have just basically become a commercial. We've had no drama since Kennedy mounted a convention fight against Carter in 1980.

But I am not holding my breath. The GOP, like the Dems, have rigged the system against non establishment candidates... and we suffer because of it.

  13. BB I'm getting the sense from some recent comments of yours that you think Democrats are somehow more virtuous than Republicans. That no Republicans condemned the Rush slut comments IS bothersome and now I have to spend my time offering up rationales when it would just have been easier to condemn the comments. This makes my work harder and I feel like a lawyer and you know if you argue nicely I'll concede a point every once in a while.

Thanks for your support. We just destroyed the fucking deathstar by sweeping Minnesota's 3rd, 5th, and 6th Congressional Districts with Ron Paul delegates and alternates.

If you know Minnesota politics you know how epic this is.

  15. "your replacements for Saty and Shaw are irritating"

Maybe they find the subject matter not to their liking of late but my recent Tyler Clementi/Dharun Ravi post was right up the liberal alley. It's like the workplace, folks come and go speaking of which there's a conundrum at work why they keep bumping up some guy to manager. Is it skin-fluting, mob influence, lack of people willing to take the position or something else? The once omnipresent DM has gone into hiding and there's some office chatter that Something Ain't Right. Ah the blog an oasis!

  16. But soap is Paul gonna have a spot in a Romney Administration?

  17. Thanks for humoring me this Tuesday afternoon.

Unless serious voter fraud occurs there is no way Romney is going to win in the general.

  19. Well, Z-Man, "you think Democrats are somehow more virtuous than Republicans." That's too broad a brush. I think BB is somehow more virtuous than SOME republicans, but there IS a shade of personal
    bias...

  20. You know I'm wondering if Republicans had quickly condemned Rush's comments it would have died a more natural death, perhaps not.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Good question- you'd think that
    would have mitigated the situation.
But, dunno, Rush seems to have quite a pull with the politicos
    of the con persuasion...

  22. Just when I thought we were winning the religious liberty argument too. I know the show is live but you'd think some producer feeling he's going the wrong way on this would have pressed a 5-sec button or something.
